Good Bye Salzburg - Hello Zurich

Time to reluctantly leave Salzburg.

When our DD visited here a few months ago she commented
"You really need more than a couple of days to see everything".

More like a couple of Weeks!

No time for Sasha Torte at the Hotel Sasha.

It was back on the Train and after Yesterday's excursion/exertion we were both glad of the lazy day ahead.

5 1/2  Hours - on a Very Fast Train took us through . . .
Austria
Germany
Back into Austria
Across Liechtenstein
and into Switzerland!

We did wonder how far that would take us back home* ...

There was some very spectacular scenery along the Train Route.

Mountains that in a month or so will be covered in their Winter Blankets of Snow

Some made us wonder if they were still snow capped, or whether it was bare rock that we saw above the Tree-line.

And then the Mountains of the Churfirsten Range dip their feet into Icy Water of Walensee.

This Lake was the inspiration for Franz Liszt's solo Piano Piece called
Au Lac de Wallenstadt.

Weary as I was, I just could not close my eyes for fear I would miss some other Beauty along the way.

Until at last our journey came to an end and it was back to grabbing our luggage and off to find our Hotel.

And on opening the door we were met by...
The first Hotel to have a KETTLE!

Oh wonderful - a cuppa tea before turning in!

There was also 'Complimentary Still Water' (A very nice bottle of ...
tap water oh well - maybe it was for the Kettle?)
And in the Hotel Foyer - Chilled Local Apple Juice.

Our Adventures in Switzerland continue tomorrow.

(*barely across the Victorian border to Mount Gambia South Australia)
